Description In 1936 Licking Rural Electrification, Inc. was formed and serviced 410 member/consumers. In 1998, Licking Rural Electrification, Inc. aquired National Gas & Oil Company and its subsidiaries, thus becoming The Energy Cooperative. Today The Energy Cooperative services over 23,000 electric, 30,000 natural gas and 4,000 propane member/consumers in east-central Ohio. The Energy Cooperative is committed to providing safe and reliable energy to its residentail, industrial and commercial members.

Member/consumers have the right to attend the Annual Meeting and vote for members to serve on the Board of Directors. The board sets policies for the cooperative and appoints the President/Chief Executive Officer who oversees the management and staff. Our goal is to provide you high quality energy service at a reasonable price and to serve your needs.
